Team Profile

At The Gerwin Group, we believe that real estate is about more than buying and selling homes–it’s about helping people with life transitions. Change can be stressful, but Mary and Shaylisa’s goal is to help their clients achieve a smooth transition, with no bumps along the way. Whether you’re buying your first home or leaving a long time neighborhood, we will help you understand and navigate the process, using our years of experience to remove obstacles and help you achieve your goals.

We view our clients as partners in the process, and value the long-term relationships that develop from such a personal partnership. Our clients have continually rewarded us with referrals, with over 80% of our sales coming from repeat clients and personal recommendations.

Mary Gerwin
Broker Associate, GRI, CNE

Mary grew up in Ohio, and worked in the corporate world for 20 years. After living in nine states and two foreign countries, she discovered the wonders of Colorado in 1994. She knows a good thing when she sees it! In 2001, Mary made the change to real estate, and she never looked back. She has consistently been in the top 2% of all metro Denver realtors, and she absolutely loves what she does!

The skills Mary learned while climbing the corporate ladder have been invaluable when it comes to serving her clients. From marketing to negotiating, Mary gets the results her clients are looking for. She is passionate about the older neighborhoods where she lives, works, and plays.

On a personal level, Mary is a big supporter of the arts. She attends concerts at the Botanic Gardens, has season tickets to two Denver theater companies, and sponsors the City Park Jazz concerts each summer. In her spare time, Mary plays the guitar and writes original music. In 2004, she accomplished a lifelong dream when she produced a professional CD of her songs. The CD has received much acclaim and one song has even been used for a national sales promotion.

Shaylisa Turner
Broker Associate, Buyer Specialist

Shaylisa has lived in many places—from her early days in southern California and northern California, to high school and college in New Mexico, and graduate school in Lawrence, Kansas. After completing her Masters degree at the University of Kansas, she moved to Denver in 2004, and spent several years as one of Colorado’s top political fundraisers.

In 2007, with successful U.S. Senate and gubernatorial campaigns to her credit and millions of dollars raised, Shaylisa entered public service. She was appointed by Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. to serve as Colorado’s Director of Boards and Commissions, where she advised the Governor on appointments to nearly 300 state boards and commissions. After several years in public service, Shaylisa moved to the nonprofit sector, where she led the effort at Mile High United Way to raise funds and awareness for Early Learning Ventures, a program aimed at bringing efficiencies to the early care and education sector through shared services.

Shaylisa joined forces with Mary Gerwin and The Gerwin Group in 2011. With $10,000,000 in volume year over year, Shaylisa is an experienced Realtor in her own right. She is passionate about helping buyers and sellers make good real estate decisions, and has a great deal of expertise in helping buyers who are relocating from outside the Denver metro area. She has lived in some of the Denver’s most vibrant neighborhoods, and enjoys introducing people to Denver.

Shaylisa makes her home in the east Denver neighborhood of Park Hill. With her husband Ben, their two children, and chocolate lab, she enjoys all that Denver has to offer—from its close proximity to the mountains and skiing, to the fine dining, shopping, and cultural events of downtown. She loves music, and is a huge Jayhawks basketball fan! Shaylisa is involved in the community as Board President of The Governor’s Residence Preservation Fund, and as past co-chair of her kids’ school gala (which raises hundreds of thousands of dollars).
