Pinery

Towering ponderosa pines of the Black Forest spill across the rolling hills of the Pinery south of the town of Parker. This rural, master-planned, golf-course community features mid-range to upper-end homes and townhomes on large lots interlaced with the lush fairways of the Pinery Country Club – 27 challenging holes designed by PGA Pro David Bingham in 1975.

An impressive variety of home styles includes Ranch, French Country, Colorado Contemporary, and Beaver Creek. Exteriors feature generous applications of natural materials including cedar, stone, brick, and genuine stucco.

The setting may be pastoral, but there’s no lack of urban amenities at the Pinery, starting with lighted tennis courts (three indoors), swimming pools, a clubhouse-restaurant, and bird sanctuary. Community activities include an art show, plant sale, garage sale, and ongoing beautification projects.

Located in the heart of Douglas County’s horse country, the Pinery is home to Colorado Horse Park equestrian center and just a short distance from the renowned Salisbury Equestrian Park.

Bingham Lake Park offers canoeing, row boating, and fishing (no license required) with Douglas County parklands surrounding the lake open for hiking, bicycling, and picnicking. Meanwhile, Pinery Park includes athletic fields, volleyball courts, picnic facilities, and a kids’ playground.

The Pinery is also home to the Timbers, a top seller among Colorado’s most exclusive custom-home neighborhoods for nine years running. Set on elevated terrain amidst gambel oak and towering 100-year-old ponderosa, the Timbers offers unique masterworks homes designed by 30 of Colorado’s leading builders.

These extraordinary homes provide sweeping views of the Front Range mountains from Pikes Peak to Longs Peak, and, with over three-quarters of the community dedicated to open space, a rare sense of privacy and seclusion.

“It would be difficult to find a more beautiful natural setting,” says the Timber’s marketing director. The Timbers represents the perfect marriage of woodland setting, old-world craftsmanship, natural materials, and one-of-kind-homes designed for today’s active lifestyles.

Originally a stage stop and then a railroad depot, the nearby town of Parker boasts myriad new shopping centers (along South Parker Road) and Victorian-style Parker Station, a commercial center offering offices, shops, and restaurants.

Modern E-470, minutes north of the Pinery via newly improved South Parker Road, provides a speedy route to DIA and Park Meadows Mall plus direct connections to mountain highways and I-25 to Denver and Colorado Springs.
