Niwot

Enchanting, Vintage Community Nestled at the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

Niwot was named for Chief Niwot, an Arapaho Leader, whose people were hunting and fishing along the Front Range when the first gold miners arrived in 1858.  The city, in the Arapaho language, means “Left Hand.”

This enchanting, vintage community combines a rich historical past with present-day conveniences.  But what Niwot is really known for is its storied events, such as the award-winning Rhythm on the Rails, Nostalgia Days, and the very popular Lobster Bash.

Old Town Niwot, a designated historic district, provides a great venue for relaxing strolls along an avenue featuring charming Victorian buildings and landscaping where you can discover the many treasures Niwot has to offer, including gourmet restaurants and Cottonwood Square Shopping Center.

The Niwot business area is filled with delightful shops and award-winning restaurants along the way.

Quaint, charming, safe and friendly, Niwot is 10 minutes from Boulder and just five minutes from Longmont.  Niwot is your close-by escape from the fast lane whether you spend a couple of hours, a day, a weekend, or a lifetime.
